• We offer ground and flight training for the Private, Instrument, Commercial, Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument Instructor and Airline Transport Pilot - Helicopter ratings in the Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters. We can also provide instruction in your aircraft and have experience in Hughes, Schweizer and Bell Helicopters. All our training is conducted in a structured but laid back atmosphere, one-on-one and is safety and scenario based, providing you with the skills and confidence needed to fly safely.
• We can also provide all Insurance and FAA required flight reviews, currency, transition, emergency procedures and SFAR 73 training and endorsements required for the R22 and R44 helicopters.
• Learning to fly a helicopter can be demanding, but it is very rewarding. You don’t need to be in great shape, have perfect eyesight or have a PHD, but you do need to commit to it, and it isn’t cheep. I have included some great sites in my Links section that answer a lot of the, how long, how much and how old questions. The best way to see what flying a helicopter is all about is to call and set up an Intro flight. We will look at the helicopter systems, how it flies, the controls and go for a short flight and let you get a feel of the machine and go over what is involved in becoming a helicopter pilot.

• We offer Private and Instrument flight training in the Piper Cherokee 140. All our training is conducted in a structured but laid back atmosphere, one-on-one and is safety and scenario based, providing you with the skills and confidence needed to fly safely.
• We can also provide flight reviews, instrument proficiency checks and aircraft check outs and provide instruction in your Beechcraft, Piper or Cessna aircraft.
• Learning to fly can be very rewarding and a dream that is obtainable by most people.  It will give you a whole new perspective on the world. Trips from Wabash to Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Louisville, Evansville, Effingham and Champaign can all be made in the Cherokee in 2 hours or less.

Sightseeing flights and Rides

• Flying W Aviation is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) by Letter of Authorization to conduct sightseeing flights, for hire, in both airplanes and helicopters. Let us help make your next Fly-in, Open house or Charity event a success. We limit the number of events that we attend each year so please email or call with your event type and date to check our availability.
